Nobel Prize-Winning Japanese Skincare

Nobel-Prize Winning Japanese Skincare

I’m beyond thrilled to introduce Forlle'd to Room One. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to bring in another skincare line, but after learning about this unique skincare technology and seeing the incredible results firsthand, I was hooked.

I have dry, dehydrated skin, and at 37 years old, the beginnings of age are starting to make a more apparent debut (it likely doesn't help matters being sleep deprived with a 5-month-old). But visual signs I'm noticing are flecks of photodamage kissing my cheekbones, fine lines beginning to run along the forehead, and a loss of moisture that once made me feel plump and lifted. As a skin professional, I can say two things: my skin is aging well, and as a result of my profession, I have access to an arsenal of skincare sitting on my vanity. For this reason, I can sometimes be a bit of a skincare snob in my endless search for products to curate that stand apart and deliver results.

The more I discovered about the line, and the more intrigued I became, created by Dr. Makato Hatto, a doctor of science and Nobel Prize winner for his invention of ingredients used in Forell'd. The Forlle'd Innovative Nano-Delivery System (FINDS) is an exclusive combination of patented ultra-low molecular Hyaluronic Acid (at 5 nm is the smallest in skincare) and Ionized Minerals (seven in total) that transport active ingredients into the deeper layers of the skin. It also contains patented low molecular Ceramides and low molecular Platinum - the ultimate antioxidant. This Nobel Prize-winning combination of signature ingredients holds five worldwide patents.

In a nutshell, this skincare line delivers ingredients to the dermal layer of the skin to create an impact at a cellular level. This is especially impressive since hyaluronic acid is not a skincare ingredient that can penetrate the skin deeply due to its large molecular size. So to be able to deliver actives that surpass the superficial layers of the skin in the epidermis by driving ingredients down to the dermis is more than impressive because this is what will ultimately create the best results in topical skincare application.

Although I did have some Forell'd on my vanity, I decided it was time to give the full range a test drive. This precision-based skincare line is optimal for those 30+ looking to prevent and improve signs of aging, photodamage, sensitivity, hydration, and overall skin vitality (all of which I was more than happy to improve). Let me tell you, from the very first treatment, I was absolutely blown away!

The textures were silky, velvety, and rich without feeling heavy. They felt incredible on the skin.

The Hyalogy P-effect Clearance Cleansing is this balm-like gel cleanser that breaks down into a light oil-like consistency when massaged over the skin. It was so unique and effective as a first cleanse PM; it made me do a guilty side glance at my usual go-to (BSE Seabuckthorn), I was cheating on it, but I liked it.

Next up was the Forell'd second cleansing step, Hyalogy P-effect Re-purerance Wash, and wow. The texture was beautiful, a rich lather that felt like soft velvet on my palms and created a smooth white mask over the skin. I went to the bedroom to rave about it to Jake (my hubby) and made him feel it himself, and surprisingly he was pretty intrigued.

If you're a regular follower, you’ll know that I love to mask about 2 to 3 times per week and offer a wide selection of them in the shop. Now, the Hyalogy Sparkling Gel Pack mask is unlike anything I offer and is just as spectacular as it sounds. This oxygenating masque works by creating a CO2 effect on the skin's surface that stimulates a phenomenon known as the Bohr effect, which leads to increased microcirculation and oxygenation of the skin. It also increases hydration, enhances cellular metabolism, improves tissue respiration, promotes detoxification, induces collagen synthesis, and evens skin tone.

But that isn't the most impressive part: upon application, it spreads over the skin as a thick clear gel. Within minutes the mask begins to slowly bubble and foam up, and you begin to feel a sensation of pops and tingles on the skin until finally, it reaches its apex of a full-on puffy cloud sitting on your skin. As the masque works through its active stage, you can relax, and in total, it takes about 20-minutes for the cloud to dissipate and absorb until it slowly reveals your skin once again. It's entertaining to watch, but it was the stimulating effect on the skin, the vibrancy it creates, and slightly flushed cheeks that made me love it that much more.

Post mask, my skin was already feeling amazing, but it was time for the lotion step, which is the toning step in the world of Japanese skincare. I reached for Hyalogy P-effect Refining Lotion and opted to apply it with the palm of my hands as recommended. It's very fluid, with a silky spread over the skin that reminded me of a serum rather than a traditional toner. This is actually a way Forlle’d lotions may be used if a serum is not in the budget. My skin instantly felt hydrated.

Next up, serum. I was pretty happy to try the brand's top worldwide bestseller, Hyalogy P-effect Essence. It features a very high concentration of active ingredients that deliver deep, intensive hydration, reduces inflammation, and diminish fine lines while lifting and firming the skin. The moment I applied it, I noticed two things, how effectively it spread over the skin (something which is appreciated when skincare has a higher price point) and how incredible the subtle scent was.

Onto eye care, I have to say I was super happy with Hyalogy Daily and Nightly Cream for Eyes. I have been on a quest for years to find a richer eye cream. Of course, I love the ones in the shop, but I wanted a curated option that felt more velvety and opulent. This delivered on all fronts, and I instantly fell in love.

For the finishing step, the moisturizer, I opted to try the Hyalogy P-effect Nourishing Cream. As mentioned at the beginning of this post, I have dry skin, and I have been on a quest to also find a moisturizer to curate for the shop, which has a richer decadence (a common request from clients too). Usually, I have to layer products into my routine to reach a level of hydration on the skin that feels good without feeling overdone - and which most importantly helps with hydrating my skin rather than just making it feel good upon application. Nourishing Cream improves barrier function and reinforces the dermal matrix (where collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid live); thereby, creating a combined lifting effect. The moment I felt it on my fingertips I knew it was different from anything I've curated to date. It was rich and almost pillowy. It spread like butter over the skin and left it plump and hydrated without feeling greasy or heavy.

The result of just one complete Forlle'd routine that night instantly made my skin feel hydrated, and my fine lines say goodbye. My skin was revitalized, and I was incredibly impressed. I couldn’t resist taking to Instagram at midnight to share a post of my glowing skin.

Since then, I have used all products, and Forell'd has become a part of my regular rotation of products. I was in love and knew my clients would love it too. Particularly for anyone who wants to create a more advanced routine that focuses on age prevention, correction, photodamage, hydration, plumping and firming.
